AWARD WINNER 2022

ThePatriots ended the regular season this week with a stunning win over division leader Townsend Harris 28-30, 25-8, 25-20 on senior day and then losing a tough 3 set match to Cardozo 25-23, 16-25, 15-25 to finish 3rd in the division with a 7-3 record.

The Patriots had a good week defeating John Bowne and Bayside during the week to go 5-2 in the league.  On Saturday, the Patriots won there pool going 5-1 defeating Stuyvesant and Brooklyn Tech 2-0 and splitting with The Prout School from R.I.  In the semi-finals they lost to The Fieldston School 2-0.  Setter Alexa Ho was named to the All 

Tournament Team for the Lady Patriot Invitational - her 2nd All tournament award this season.

The Patriots went into the Francis Lewis Match Play Tournament with a 4-2 overall and 3-1 League record. 

At the tournament the Patriots went undefeated in their pool defeating Queens Complex, Preston and John Jay - Cross River in straight sets 6-0.  The Patriots then faced Riverdale/Kingsbridge in the semi-finals.  This was a hard fought 3 set match and Patriots fell 21-25 in the 3rd set., ending the day 7-2.  Senior setter Karen Pozo-Castro was named to the All Tournament Team.

The team will only have one league match with Townsend Harris before going upstate for the Patti Perone Horseheads Invitational.

In week 2 the Patriots hosted Richmond Hill in a scrimmage winning all 5 sets.

Then on Saturday, they traveled upstate to Rockland County for the Clarkstown South Tournament.  This was a 25 team tournament.  The Patriots went 2-6 in pool play losing to Wallkill, Ridgewood N.J. and a close one to Pearl River before taking 2 sets from Port Jervis.  In the Gold Bracket they defeated Irvington in the first round and then defeated Pearl River seeking revenge from their pool play loss.  Then in the bracket semi-finals they were defeated by Maria Regina.  The Patriots were tied for 3rd in the bracket and tied for 13th overall in the tournament 13/25 teams.  Overall a very nice day for the Patriots to get ready for League play this week.

The Patriots opened up the season with a nice first week.  The team went 6-0 in pool Play in the Blastoff tournament defeating, Maspeth, Holy Cross and St. Joseph Hill.  In the semifinals the young Patriots lost a hard fought match to Metropolitan Campus. Alexa Ho was named to the All Tournament Team.

The following Wednesday, they hosted L.I. Lutheran and won 3-1.
